Cattle Grazing Forces Kenya’s Lions to Retreat, Study Finds

Large-scale cattle grazing in Kenya’s Maasai Mara Conservancies is forcing lions to retreat from their traditional habitats, a new study finds. Despite using the savanna at different times, the presence of livestock is altering lion behaviour and shrinking their available space.
