Rain Continues in Several Regions

The Kenya Meteorological Department predicts continued rainfall across various regions from May 21 to May 27. Here is a detailed regional forecast:

Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and Rift Valley

Counties: Kisii, Nyamira, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Busia, Migori, Narok, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot

Morning rains are expected over a few places, occasionally spreading to several areas. Afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are anticipated over many locations.

North-western Kenya

Counties: Turkana, Samburu

Morning rains, along with afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms, are forecasted for a few places at the start of the week, transitioning to sunny and dry conditions for the remainder of the period.

Highlands East of the Rift Valley (Including Nairobi County)

Counties: Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, Nairobi

Morning rains are likely in a few places, with afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms expected over several areas.

North-eastern Kenya

Counties: Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo

Sunny intervals are predicted during the day, with partly cloudy nights. Occasional rainfall is possible in Marsabit and Garissa counties.

South-eastern Lowlands

Counties: Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, Taita-Taveta

Daytime sunny intervals and partly cloudy nights are expected. Occasional rainfall may occur in Kajiado and Machakos counties.

Coast

Counties: Mombasa, Tana-River, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale

Morning, afternoon, and night showers are anticipated over a few places, spreading to several areas early in the week, followed by sunny and dry conditions. Strong southerly to south-easterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.9 m/s) are expected along the coast.
