Kenya’s Carbon Market Faces Fresh Legal Test
A fresh legal challenge by Indigenous pastoralist communities in Isiolo has put Kenya’s rapidly expanding carbon market under renewed scrutiny. More than 30 Biliqo Bulesa community members are challenging the Northern Kenya Rangelands Carbon Project, raising questions over land rights, community consent, carbon revenues and control of natural resources.
